William G. McConnell, Jr. is a native of Sharon, Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Sharon High School, Westminster College, and the Duquesne University School of Law where he was a member of the Law Review. Attorney McConnell concentrates his practice in the areas of civil litigation, employment law, criminal law, estate planning and administration, and municipal and government law.
Attorney McConnell started his legal career with the United States Marine Corps in 1990, serving as a criminal defense counsel while stationed in Okinawa, Japan and Parris Island, South Carolina. He is a graduate of the Naval Justice School, Newport, Rhode Island and a veteran of the Persian Gulf War.
After leaving the Marine Corps in 1993, Attorney McConnell practiced law on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. In 1996, he returned to Mercer County to practice law with his father, William G. McConnell, Sr., in what was formerly the law firm of Ekker, Kuster, & McConnell and its successor law firm where he was a partner for 9 years.
Attorney McConnell served as litigation solicitor for Mercer County from 2004-2011. He also served as chairman of the City of Sharon Home Rule Charter Study Commission where he was instrumental in drafting and implementing one of the most progressive home rule charters in Pennsylvania.
Active in his community and church and an advocate for responsible government and veterans’ causes, Attorney McConnell resides in Sharon with his wife, Jennifer, and their dog, Tess.
